Its strong points:
Extendable: Stop climbing up that rickety ladder! This telescopic hedge trimmer is extendable up to a length of 2.885 m, so you can comfortably work on even the tallest hedges. No ladder needed.
Tiltable head: With its tiltable head, you can adjust the cutting angle in 7 different positions, so you can easily give the tops of the hedges a neat trim.
Ideal for mid-sized hedges: This hedge trimmer features a double action blade, 550 mm in length, making it ideal for mid-sized hedges. It's slightly less manoeuvrable than a hedge trimmer with a shorter blade length, but is very efficient when used on larger shrubs.
Cutting capacity: With this 550 mm long blade and a cutting length of 504 mm you can effortlessly cut through branches of up to 20 mm thick. This cutting capacity is partially determined by the distance between the blades. It's best to use a saw or lopping shears for thicker branches.
Double action blade, laser cut: The double action blade consists of two separate blades moving in opposite directions. In addition, they are laser cut blades and provide better cutting results.
Tips & Tricks:
- Most hedges and shrubs experience a first growth spurt during the spring. So, it’s best to give them their first trim before the beginning of summer, between mid-May and mid-June. Fast-growing species can also use an extra trim after the summer, between the end of August and mid-September. Always cut your hedges on a dry, cloudy day, so they don't get sunburned.
- How frequently you should trim the hedges depends on the type and shape. A boxwood hedge with a complex shape will need more frequent pruning to maintain that shape. If, on the other hand, you have a tall hedge that should retain its natural shape, you'll only have to trim it once or twice a year.
